On May 9, 2019, CGAP highlighted in a webinar practical recommendations from the paper, "API Pricing for Digital Financial Service Providers: Getting Started." Martin Janzen, monetization strategy expert and managing director of Simon-Kucher & Partners' Cairo office, shared insights on the process of setting prices for APIs and other considerations, such as when and how to think about bundling. We also heard from Cedric N'Guessan, who heads the fintech product and strategy team for MTN Group, on pricing challenges and lessons from rolling out an initial set of open APIs in Uganda and beyond.

Cedric has been working in financial technology in emerging markets across Africa and Latin America over the past 10 years. He currently heads the fintech product and strategy team for MTN Group, which operates across 21 markets in Sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East. Cedric is also an advisory member of the CGAP open API program.

Martin is the managing director of the Cairo office for Simon-Kucher & Partners. He is responsible for financial services in the Middle East and Africa. Over the last 10 years, he has advised clients in many countries on growth initiatives, monetization strategies, and digital transformation.
