Vishnu Sridharan is a former program associate with the Global Assets Project. Before joining New America, Vishnu worked with the Global Network for Public Interest Law in New York and Beijing, as well as with Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ). He was also a Peace Corps Volunteer in El Salvador from 2004-2006, where he focused on government transparency, citizen participation and community-initiated development.

He holds a J.D. from Stanford Law School and a B.A. from Columbia College.

Eric Tyler is a research fellow with the think tank New America and co-founder of Globality, a social enterprise reaching entrepreneurs and organizations across more than 100 countries. Mr. Tyler focuses on the intersection of mobile technology, economic development and entrepreneurship. His current projects and research span four continents ranging from building apps distinguished by the White House to advising and researching mobile technology utilization in emerging markets. His writings have been published in print and online in The Guardian, The Wall Street Journal, CNN, Foreign Policy Magazine, Forbes, The Huffington Post, among other outlets. Anjana Ravi is a program associate for the Global Assets Project at the New America Foundation. She supports the development of the Savings for the Poor Innovation and Knowledge Network (SPINNAKER), an online tool designed to spur collaboration, dialogue and innovation around savings products for the poor.

Peter Fleming was a co-founder of Invest in Knowledge in 2004 and was acting Executive Director from 2004 to 2011. In 2011 he joined Bankable Frontier Associates.  Pete has 10 years experience leading survey research projects throughout Sub‐Saharan Africa, the Indian subcontinent, Latin America, and Antarctica. Prior to joining Bankable Frontier Associates, he was the Research Director of a University of Pennsylvania Wharton School longitudinal study of entrepreneurs and small businesses in South Africa. From 2004 to 2010, he led a multidisciplinary team from the University of Pennsylvania that studied changes in demographic, socioeconomic and health conditions in rural Malawi through the collection of intergenerational transfer and household panel data. He holds a bachelors degree in Public Health with a concentration in Economics from the University of Rochester and a masters degree in Demography from the University of Pennsylvania.

Thérèse Sandmark joined the Grameen Crédit Agricole Microfinance Foundation in April 2011 as the team’s agricultural micro-insurance officer. Before this, she was an independent micro-insurance consultant with a focus on the agricultural sector and social performance indicators. Prior to that, she was based in Nairobi for 2.5 years working as Program Officer in microfinance and microinsurance covering the East Africa region for the Swedish Cooperative Centre. Thérèse holds a MSc in Business and Economics from the Stockholm School of Economics as well as Master in Microfinance from the European Microfinance Programme at the Solvay Business School in Brussels.

 

Mark Wenner works with the Capital Markets and Financial Institutions Division of the Inter-American Development Bank and has published numerous articles on rural finance topics and participated in a number of financing operations involving rural and microfinance organizations.
 

Luciana Aguiar is a Partner at Plano CDE, a specialized Brazilian firm focused on the base of the pyramid.  Luciana is an anthropologist and an expert in BOP markets.  She has been focused on the BOP for the past 15 years, working with low-income populations.  Ms. Aguiar has a PhD in visual anthropology from Cornell University.  She has developed projects for companies such as Nestle, Unilever, Accenture, Coca-Cola, Mastercard, Oi, Citibank, Itau, among others.
