Individual Funder Snapshots

As part of its mission to improve the availability and quality of information on funding to microfinance, CGAP has completed the first survey of major cross-border funding for microfinance. The results help the industry understand where money for microfinance comes from, how it is used, and where it goes. All data provided is self-reported and, with few exceptions, is as of December 2007 and was collected from April to August 2008. 54 funders committed $11.7 billion to microfinance, out of which $2.5 billion was disbursed in 2007.
