Microfinance Gateway Relaunches to Offer New, Interactive Features

In response to user feedback, the Microfinance Gateway has launched a new and improved Web site. The most comprehensive online resource for the global microfinance community now offers interactive features, updated information on Hot Topics in microfinance, and a fresh look and feel.

On the new site, Gateway users can rate and review Library documents, comment on microfinance news, and share their announcements with the industry. Microfinance Voices, a series of feature articles formerly called Highlights, focuses on current issues, trends and debates in the industry. With the new site, readers can now build conversations around these articles, using the new Comments feature to voice their opinions and create dialogue around current topics. The latest in this series, Microfinance and the Environmental Bottom Line, explores the growing area of green microfinance.

“CGAP is pleased to provide Microfinance Gateway users with an updated site which provides greater opportunities for interaction and community participation.” said CGAP CEO, Elizabeth Littlefield. “Far more than just the largest repository for microfinance information, the Microfinance Gateway is also becoming a point of exchange and debate for those on the front lines of the industry. We hope to facilitate healthy debate throughout the industry on topics of vital interest to us all.”

In addition, the new site provides more training resources for practitioners, and Hot Topic pages on key areas of interest, such as Investment, Rural and Agricultural Finance, and Social Performance.

The Microfinance Gateway continues to offer its highly valued core services, including a library of over 7,000 microfinance documents, job postings, and daily news and announcements.
