Jae Hwan Kim
Liaison Officer. Jae Hwan is on staff secondment from the Korean Government where he directed the Economic Development Division of the Presidential Committee for the G20 Summit. He contributed to the Seoul Development Consensus and developed the multi-year action plans at the G20 Seoul Summit, including launching the Global Partnership for Financial Inclusion and G20 Development Working Group.
Prior to that he worked for the World Bank as advisor to the executive director who represents Australia, Korea, New Zealand, Mongolia, Cambodia, and the Pacific islands. In that position, he conducted a review of IFC and MIGA’s basic policies and wrote position reports. Prior to that position, Jae Hwan worked for the Korean Ministry of Finance and Economy as director of the human resource team in the Innovation and Human Resource Office. He has also held positions in various Korean government bodies including the Treasury Division of the Treasury Bureau, Financial Policy Bureau’s Insurance Institution Division (dealing with credit card law, supervising microbanking institutions and revising consumer protection laws) and the Securities Institution Division (dealing with securities investment trust company law, mutual fund law, and corporate restructuring law). He holds an LLM from American University, Washington College of Law and a bachelor’s degree in business and administration from Yonsei University in Seoul.
