Learning

Funders that seek to build their staff capacity can draw on several CGAP resources.  CGAP offers an introductory microfinance 101 course, tailored learning events on topical issues, and tools for self-learning or training delivery by others.

The CGAP/MFMI Funder Training is a one-week hands-on course on how funders can make a difference in building financial systems for poor people. This one-of-a kind course is tailored specifically for donors, investors and policymakers interested in keeping up with the rapidly evolving world of microfinance while gaining practical skills in microfinance appraisal and performance-based management. The course is offered 2-4 times a year in English and French in various locations.

CGAP periodically organizes trainings and learning events, often in partnership funders and industry leaders. Presentations and materials from such events are made publicly available.
CGAP’s training modules combine the latest microfinance technical content with interactive, experiential-learning methodology. They can be used for self-learning or for delivery by staff with microfinance and training expertise.
