Compact for Better Aid

The Compact for Better Aid for Access to Finance was endorsed by the heads development agencies that are members of CGAP in Paris, 2006. In this common statement, development organizations reaffirm their commitment to improving aid effectiveness within their agencies to help increase poor people’s access to finance and contribute to the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). With the Compact for Better Aid, development leaders adopted four specific commitments:
- Measure the Quality of Aid Management
- Implement the Good Practice Guidelines for Funders of Microfinance
- Improve Field-level Coordination
- Partner with the Private Sector
