Greg Chen

Regional Representative for South Asia. Based in Dhaka Bangladesh, Greg works to deepen CGAP’s engagement across eight countries in South Asia, with a focus on the role of technology. Greg works with central banks, mobile network operators, and financial institutions helping establish new business models that can transform how the financially excluded can enter the formal financial system. Greg brings 18 years of experience building businesses and addressing policies that advance the cause of financial inclusion.

Prior to CGAP, Greg worked for the Aga Khan Development Network, ShoreBank International, and Bank of America. An American national, Greg has lived and worked in South Asia for most of the last 12 years, with a particular focus on India, Bangladesh, and Pakistan. His academic training is in economics and he holds a master's degree from Harvard’s Kennedy School.
