Greg Chen

   

Regional Representative for South Asia. Based in Dhaka Bangladesh, Greg works to deepen CGAP’s engagement across eight countries in South Asia, collaborating with regional partners on issues such as technology, policy, and funding. Greg has extensive experience in promoting microfinance in Asia, living and working in multiple countries. He helped establish one of the first microfinance banks in the region and to build an effective national microfinance association in Pakistan. Greg has advised more than a half dozen of the region's largest microfinance institutions and key policymakers, including central banks across the region. In addition Greg also brings commercial banking experience from his work with Bank of America in the United States. His education combines an undergraduate degree in economics from Wesleyan University and a master's degree from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. Greg is conversant in Urdu.
