Indicators and Analysis Team

The Indicators and Analysis Team within Market Intelligence is launching a cross country survey on accessing financial services. The survey will gather statistics on access to financial services and information on regulations affecting access to finance for low income people around the world.

This survey builds on the earlier work by the World Bank published in the 2008 report “Banking the Poor” covering 54 countries. This year the survey will be sent to 150 countries and will expand the coverage of financial institutions beyond commercial banks, to include credit unions and cooperatives, microfinance institutions, postal and development banks.

The results of the survey will be made available as a published report and an accompanying online database.
