Frances Sinha is the co-founder and director of M-CRIL, which is involved in training, evaluation, research, and specialist assessments in microfinance, financial inclusion, and micro-enterprises. Based in India, she has been closely associated with global initiatives for social performance management, reporting, and assessments, including the development of social ratings, the Universal Standards for Social Performance Management, the client protection principles/standards, Truelift principles to support pro-poor practices, outcomes reporting and management, and gender analysis. A core focus of her work is clear, contextualised analysis that brings client voices into strengthening management and governance of institutions aiming to support low-income households, including women.
