Jennifer Waugaman works with CGAP on the Financial Services for Inclusive Carbon Markets Project, which explores how financial services can enable low-income households and communities to participate in and benefit from voluntary carbon markets.

Jennifer brings over a decade of experience designing and scaling solutions for climate adaptation and resilience in emerging and developing economies. Before joining CGAP, she co-founded and led a climate-tech social enterprise working with pastoralist communities to drive the restoration of over 1.7 million hectares of degraded grasslands across East Africa. Over her career, she has led carbon market advisory work with climate-tech companies in Sub-Saharan Africa, directed accelerator programs for the World Food Programme, and spearheaded innovation initiatives at international development organizations.
