Jorge is a quantitative economist with expertise in econometrics, causal inference, and machine learning. His research spans international finance, fiscal and financial stability, and energy markets. He holds a PhD in Economics and master's degrees in Economics and Artificial Intelligence from the University of Barcelona, the European University Institute, and the Polytechnic University of Catalonia. His work has been published in leading academic journals, including World Development, Journal of Banking and Finance, Energy Economics, Research Policy and the Journal of International Money and Finance. Jorge has held faculty positions at several institutions in Spain, including the University of Barcelona, ESADE Business School, and the Open University of Catalonia. He has also led and contributed to numerous research projects in collaboration with multilateral organizations such as CGAP, the IDB, and the Latin American Reserve Fund.
