Judith Frickenstein

Judith is lead of the Financial Inclusion and Digital Finance Team in GIZ’s Cluster Financial Systems Development and Insurance. Judith is advising the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and supports the G20/Global Partnership for Financial Inclusion (GPFI). Prior to her current position, she coordinated the German contribution on agricultural finance within the Pan-African Partnership Making Finance Work for Africa (MFW4A). Judith led the economic empowerment component of GIZ’s gender sector program, where she advised BMZ as the champion of the World Bank Group’s Gender Action Plan (2007-2010) and consulted sustainable economic development program in MENA, South-East Europe and Africa. Before joining GIZ, Judith worked in the German insurance sector. She holds a diploma in economics and political science. Judith is a member of CGAP's Executive Committee.
