María Paula Arregui

Paula Arregui is the Senior Vice President of Mercado Pago, the leading online payment processing platform in Latin America.

Paula has held various roles since joining Mercado Libre in 2000. She began in the Administration and Finance area as Controller for Argentina, Uruguay, and the United States. In 2003, she became the first employee of the Mercado Pago business unit and was later promoted to Regional Operations Director. From 2011 to 2019, Paula served as Vice President of Product at Mercado Pago, a role in which she actively contributed to the development of the product and business strategy across eight Latin American countries.

Until 2024, as Chief Operations Officer (COO), she was responsible for building the infrastructure connecting different payment methods across the region. She is currently Senior Vice President of Mercado Pago, leading the Acquiring area, where she oversees the corporate businesses of Sellers, Operations, Software, Core Payments, and Continuous Improvement.

Paula is Argentine and graduated with honors from the University of Buenos Aires with degrees in Business Administration and Public Accounting. She also completed an Executive Program at Stanford University focused on Leadership and Emerging Business Trends.
