Othman Ouannane is a financial sector consultant at CGAP, where he works on initiatives to close gender gaps in financial inclusion in Morocco. With 18 years of experience in emerging markets, his work focuses on mobilizing financial services to build household resilience, advance women's economic empowerment, and support climate adaptation.
He has led development policy financing initiatives addressing financial inclusion, capital markets development, and climate transition, while facilitating sector dialogue with governments and designing technical assistance programs. His work also encompasses capital transactions for private equity funds and microfinance institutions, enabling market-based solutions that strengthen inclusive financial ecosystems. Othman holds a Master of Science in Management from Grenoble École de Management and a Master's in Private Sector Development and Finance from the CERDI (University of Auvergne in partnership with AFD).
