Valdete Berisha leads FinDev Gateway, a CGAP platform promoting dialogue on financial inclusion's role in development. She also serves as a communications advisor for CGAP’s Financial Inclusion 2.0 initiative, providing strategic advice on external relations, influence strategy, and editorial excellence. Valdete's international development research and communications experience includes a focus on a range of topics, including financial inclusion, microfinance, global trade, and agriculture policy.
Before joining CGAP in 2016, Valdete worked at the World Bank’s Agriculture Global Practice, leading communications for the Agriculture Finance Support Facility (AGRIFIN). Prior to that, she spent seven years at the International Food Policy Research Institute’s (IFPRI) Markets, Trade & Institutions division, conducting research on global trade negotiations and multilateral trade agreements.
Valdete has a Bachelor's degree in International Affairs and Political Science from Wartburg College and a Master’s degree in Global Commerce and Policy from George Mason University’s Schar School of Policy and Government.
