Tammy Mehdi

External Affairs Officer

Tammy Mehdi manages CGAP’s digital communications, focusing on strategic outreach and engagement through CGAP’s social and digital platforms. She also provides communications support for the Partnerships Unit, as well as the Advancing Food Security through Finance in Agri-Value Chains and Inclusive Carbon Markets projects.

Tammy has nearly a decade of experience developing and executing global communications strategies at the World Bank. Before joining CGAP in 2022, she managed communications for other global funds – the Global Agriculture and Food Security Program (GAFSP) and the Global Partnership for Social Accountability (GPSA). Prior to joining the World Bank, she was a Research Assistant and Adjunct Instructor at American University, focusing on strategic communication and culture. Her previous experience also includes training roles at Edelman, the U.S. Department of State, and the White House.

She holds Master’s degrees in International Relations and Public Relations as part of the Public Diplomacy program at Syracuse University and a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications, with a concentration in Journalism, from the American University of Sharjah, UAE.
